Associated Food Stores (AFS) announced that it will implement Instacart’s white-label e-commerce solutions (“Storefront” and “Storefront Pro”) across its five company-owned brands and more than 40 member retailers in the U.S.
In addition to e-commerce capabilities, AFS is adopting Instacart’s retail media platform, Carrot Ads, to create new revenue streams and improve marketing effectiveness. Previous implementations of these solutions have shown impressive results: for example, one company-owned store experienced a ~24% increase in monthly e-commerce sales and a 2–3× growth in monthly retail media revenue.
This move reflects a broader trend of grocery retailers leveraging technology platforms to offer seamless online shopping experiences while monetizing digital shelf space through retail media. By combining white-label e-commerce with targeted advertising, AFS enables both its own brands and member retailers to enhance online visibility, drive sales, and create additional revenue channels, all while maintaining brand identity.
